Kennet and Avon Canal Boat HireAn ideal base for exploring the western end of the Kennet & Avon canal, Hilperton Marina has narrowboats in all sizes. From 47ft for a group of 2/4, up to our largest boat, the 70ft 12-berth Swan class. Visit Bath and Bristol or cruise east to Devizes and beyond.First, choose your boat. Cruiser or semi-traditional stern? Galley at the stern or the bow? There’s a great variety to choose from. Once you have decided, your canal route options are varied - you can head west to Bath and perhaps then onto Bristol with its floating harbour. If you head east you can tackle the spectacular 29 locks of the Caen Hill flight, before stopping for a rest at the lovely market town of Devizes. |
BY ROADExit the M4 at junction 17 and take the A350 (Chippenham) to Melksham. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit (Holt B3107). Turn left immediately after the Toll Gate pub (Staverton / Hilperton / Trowbridge). From Staverton follow the brown local road signs. Hilperton Marina, Hammond Way is at the junction of the B3105 and B3106. Check in at the glass walled building on stilts at the side of the canal. FROM AIRPORTSThe nearest rail station is Trowbridge where we are just a short taxi ride away. Trowbridge rail station can be reached from London Waterloo or Bath. |
BY RAILLondon airports: Make your way via the London Underground, bus or taxi to London Waterloo station. From there take a train to Trowbridge as above.
