As a narrowboat virgin the team at the Travel Village in Blackpool recommended the Llangollen canal journey as a good choice because there's only a couple of locks each way. Also the scenery as you sail across two Aqueducts including the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct was just incredible. We had a large boat the Spotted Eagle for 4 people which is just perfect. All the mod cons including flushing toilets and showers.

The boat was well kitted out for a crew of our size, - and more spacious than it looks. Loved how all the sleeping areas could be closed into mini rooms at night for privacy. The trip was great and the suggested routes were really helpful. Had a great time

Was a bit boring Not much to see apart from Bosworth but we chose not to do locks. In hindsight that was a mistake

ABC resolved a pump problem very quickly and efficienty. Unfortunately they did not update us on the problem at Tilstone lock so we did not get to Chester as planned.
