The King’s Coronation by Canal

The Coronation of King Charles III Camilla on Saturday the 6^th May is set to be the event of summer, as the country comes together to celebrate the first coronation in more than a generation.

While the Coronation itself takes place at Westminister Abbey in London, on Sunday 7^th May there will be a live coronation concert at Windsor Castle along with plenty of opportunities for people to come together to mark the momentous occasion.

What’s on in Windsor during the Coronation?

What better place to celebrate all things royal than Windsor? Windsor is home to Windsor Castle, founded by William the Conqueror in the 11^th Century and is still home to the Royals today. There’s plenty to do in Windsor around the coronation for all tastes including;

• Visit Windsor Guildhall: Get a guided tour of the venue where King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla got married. The Guildhall is a Grade I listed building and features portraits of a number of British monarchs.
• Watch the changing of the guard: The changing of the guard can be watched by visitors to Windsor Castle twice a week, and is a great opportunity to witness the military tradition.
• Royal Tea Party: Danesfield house in Marlow is running a Right Royal Tea Party with cakes, champagne and sandwiches set in 65 acres of manicured gardens and woodland.
• Coronation Concert: While tickets for the Coronation Concert are chosen by ballot, the coronation and concert is set to be streamed on big screens across the UK.
